Rihanna to perform at 2023 Super Bowl half-time show
Rihanna has confirmed that she'll be headlining the next Super Bowl half-time show in February 2023.
Last night (25 September) Rihanna surprised fans by sharing an image of her holding a NFL branded football, announcing her involvement with the 2023 Super Bowl half-time show, which will take place in February 2023 in Arizona.
Rihanna's Super Bowl half-time show will follow last year's huge show that featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and Mary J. Blige.
According to Pitchfork, Dr. Dre told Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1 of Rihanna's upcoming performance, "I just like her and what she does, and her get down, and how she approaches her artistry and the whole nine. It’s fantastic. She has the opportunity to really blow us away. I know we set the bar extremely high."
The 2023 half-time show will be partnered with Apple Music in 2023 instead of the previous sponsor Pepsi.
Taylor Swift was also reportedly asked to perform at the 2023 half-time show, but declined the offer to focus on re-recording her early albums.
Rihanna's Super Bowl LVII half-time show will take place on 12 February 2023.
