Rihanna on the possibility of releasing new music around Super Bowl performance: "Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing"
Rihanna has addressed speculation that new music could be arriving around her upcoming Super Bowl performance, saying, "Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing."
Last month Rihanna returned with her first solo release in more than six years, "Lift Me Up", which features on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. The new song followed news that she'll be headlining the next Super Bowl half-time show in February 2023, and since the announcement of her Super Bowl show, fans have been speculating that the huge event could be teamed with new music.
According to Associated Press, Rihanna discussed the speculation, saying that it's "not true" that a new album would be arriving soon. "Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing," Rihanna continued. "Do you hear that, fans?"
She added, "The second that I announced this, I said, 'Oh, my God, they’re going to think my album is coming. I need to get to work'."
Rihanna's "Lift Me Up" song is out now alongside the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film soundtrack.
