Richard Dawson announces new album The Ruby Cord
Richard Dawson has announced his forthcoming album The Ruby Cord, which will complete a trilogy that started with 2017's Peasant.
The Ruby Cord is the final release in a trilogy that started with 2017's Peasant, and continued with 2019's 2020, and he's unveiled a trailer for the 40-minute opener "The Hermit", which will be accompanied by a James Hankins-directed, 40-minute video that's being premiered at multiple cinemas and art spaces across the UK with Q&A sessions beginning on 12 November at London's Rio.
Dawson says of the album, "So many of us are moving into these fantasy worlds. Whether it's actual constructed virtual realities, computer worlds, or retreating into even more fantastical realms…. conspiracy theories, nationalism, amateur football punditry. People construct their own world because this one is so flawed."
The Ruby Cord was recorded at Blank Studios in Newcastle-upon-Tyne with Pigs x7's Sam Grant, and will follow last year's Hen Ogledd EP No Wood Accepted.
