Reading Festival thanks Reneé Rapp for "her perseverance and professionalism amidst the technical difficulties"
Due to Storm Lilian, Reading and Leeds Festival was marred with mishap after mishap. Reneé Rapp seemed to have the worst luck across the weekend.
Two stages at Leeds Festival were show down due to strong winds that had caused damage. Over the weekend, heavy rain and winds caused delays which meant that Reneé Rapp's set was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts.
As she appeared at Reading Festival on Sunday afternoon, her set was cut short after four songs due to a plethora of technical difficulties. During the first song, "Talk Too Much", her microphone malfunctioned, which led to the song having to be restarted. During her third song, "Bruises", excess rainwater that had pooled on the stage's roof was blown onto Rapp and her band.

“Guys, I really really really wanna give you a good show. Um — we are drenched. Some of our equipment is fucked. So, thank you so much, that was so fuckin’ helpful,” Rapp said, as the stage crew rushed in to try and try the equipment. “But we do really wanna give you a good show. So, if you’re down, we will restart with ‘Not My Fault.’ And if I slip and fall, it is not my insurance. I’m not paying for that shit.”
Following a second drenching, Rapp and her band decided to cut the performance to avoid any further damage to their musical equipment. After the show, she took to Instagram to express her disappointment in how the show went down, posting a video of herself and her band holding their middle fingers up, screaming: "Suck my dick".

Reading Festival later shared a statement, writing: “We would like to thank Reneé Rapp for her perseverance and professionalism amidst the technical difficulties we have had to continue to deal with from Storm Lilian…We are desperately hoping, like you, that she will come back to R&L in the future.”
It is currently unknown whether Reneé Rapp plans on taking them up on their offer to return.
