RAYE's "Escapism" becomes her highest-charting single ever in the UK
RAYE's "Escapism" track featuring 070 Shake has become her highest-charting single ever in the UK after reaching number two in this week's Singles Chart.
Last week RAYE achieved her first UK Top 10 single as an independent artist with "Escapism", and this week the single climbed to number two on the charts - behind Mariah Carey's Christmas hit "All I Want For Christmas Is You" - marking her highest-charting single ever.
RAYE has previously reached number three in the UK Singles Chart twice, but only from collaborations when she was signed to Polydor Records. Those songs were Jax Jones' "You Don’t Know Me" in 2016, and last year's Joel Corry and David Guetta collaboration "Bed".
Speaking about being in the UK Top 10 to the Official Charts Company last week, RAYE said, "I’m just so grateful that I’m in a position where I can release the music that I love and that I’m proud of. It’s just the biggest surprise and blessing. It’s a mind-blowing moment that’s happening right now, it’s absolutely bonkers."
RAYE's debut album My 21st Century Blues will be released on 3 February 2023, and is available to pre-order now.
