RAYE finally announces debut album My 21st Century Blues
RAYE has finally announced her debut album My 21st Century Blues, just over a year since becoming an independent artist after parting ways with Polydor Records.
After delivering her latest tracks "Escapism." featuring 070 Shake and "The Thrill Is Gone." earlier this week, RAYE has announced her debut album My 21st Century Blues.
RAYE says, "My 21st Century Blues. My debut album. My ugly complex beautiful mosaic formed from broken pieces of glass from the last seven years of my life. My medicine, my anxieties and traumas, my unfiltered thoughts. This music accompanied me through my bluest blues, crafted unapologetically and fearlessly with love and tears, and now I can only hope it might provide the same medicine it did for me, for those who choose to listen. I can’t believe it is really happening. My first album."
News of RAYE's debut album comes over a year after she parted ways with Polydor Records after claiming the label was stopping her from releasing her debut record. On Instagram, she wrote, "I cannot actually believe I am writing this. I was seven years old when I wrote my first song. I was 10 years old when I made the commitment that I would be a professional musician. I was 15 years old when I released my first song. I was 17 years old when I signed my record deal. I am about turn 25 years old, and I get to tell you… (As an independent artist) My debut album My 21st Century Blues is available for pre-order from midnight."
The tracklist for RAYE's album is yet to be revealed. Before this week's singles, she released "Black Mascara" in August and "Hard Out Here" in July.
RAYE's debut album My 21st Century Blues will be released on 3 February 2023, and is available to pre-order now.
