RAYE could get her first ever UK Number One single this week with "Escapism"
RAYE's "Escapism" track featuring 070 Shake is reportedly in the running to top the UK Singles Chart this week, and if it does, it'll mark RAYE's first ever UK Number One.
In December RAYE's "Escapism" became her highest-charting single ever in the UK, reaching number two. Following the Christmas period, with Wham!'s "Last Christmas" topping the Singles Chart, the Official Charts Company reports that "Escapism" is back in the running for a UK Number One.
According to the Official Charts Company, "Escapism" is out-performing Central Cee's "Let Go", SZA's "Kill Bill", Rema's "Calm Down" and more
RAYE said of the possibility of topping the UK Singles Chart this week, "It would be beyond a dream to be Number 1. With this song? At this time in my life? Don’t!"
She previously reached number three in the UK Singles Chart twice, but only from collaborations when she was signed to Polydor Records. Those songs were Jax Jones' "You Don’t Know Me" in 2016, and last year's Joel Corry and David Guetta collaboration "Bed".
RAYE's debut album My 21st Century Blues will be released on 3 February 2023, and is available to pre-order now.
