Quasi announce first album in a decade with lead cut "Queen of Ears"
Quasi, aka Sam Coomes and Janet Weiss, have announced their debut album for Sub Pop and first in a decade, Breaking The Balls Of History, and have shared new single "Queen of Ears" to accompany the news.
"Queen of Ears" is the duo's first new music since sharing a quarantine demo in 2020 titled "Rotten Wrock" (the finished version will appear on the new album), and arrives with a Patrick Stanton-directed video.
Breaking The Balls Of History will follow Quasi's 2013 album Mole City, and was produced by the duo alongside John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill) at Rob Lang Studios in Seattle.
Weiss says of working on the record, "It felt so life-affirming. I can hear in the music how happy I am to be there and to be playing at that level again. I get to exist."
