Puma Blue unveils "Falling Down" as the final single ahead of his album release
South-London born, Atlanta-based multihyphenate Puma Blue –– the alias of Jacob Allen –– will release his highly anticipated second album, Holy Waters, this Friday.
Allen has previously shared the singles “Hounds”, “Pretty”, “O, The Blood” and “Dream Of You”.
On the album opener “Falling Down” Puma Blue explains, “We were watching [90’s Japanese anime series] Cowboy Bebop in the studio and this dusty sound we made really came from those visuals. I wrote the lyrics during a challenging moment, feeling like my stomach was plummeting and struggling to get myself out of the depressing hole I’d fallen into. The song isn’t so much about picking yourself back up as it is about how it feels to fall in the first place.”
Holy Waters is the highly anticipated follow-up to Puma Blue's 2021 debut In Praise of Shadows, and was recorded with his live band over the course of two visits to Eastbourne’s Echo Zoo Studios.
"Falling Down" is out now. Puma Blue's second album, Holy Waters, arrives on 1 September via Blue Flowers and is available to pre-order.
