San Francisco's biggest music festival (and best excuse to party in a park) is back for its ninth year, and this year's lineup is stacked top to bottom with wow-worthy headliners, up-and-comers and industry veterans. Here are five bands (and one dessert) not to miss at Outside Lands (5-7 August).
Wet
Brooklyn-trio Wet has been having a good last couple years with worldwide hype building around their every move. Hear them play songs from excellent their major label debut, Don’t You.
Sufjan Stevens
Ever since pulling out all the stops at his Coachella performance earlier this year, Sufjan's festival performances have become not-to- be-missed events. Expect angel wings, costume changes and energetic versions of tracks from Carrie & Lowell, The Age of Adz and more.
Ibeyi
French-Cuban twin sisters Lisa and Naomi mix traditional Nigerian music with hip hop and electronic beats to produce a sound that's both familiar and distinct.
Air
The last time Air was in the area was 2010, and this is their first festival performance ever in San Francisco. Catch the French electronic pioneers perform "Sexy Boy", "Cherry Blossom Girl", "Venus", "La Femme d’Argent" and more.
Radiohead
The hype is real. Radiohead return for the first time since headlining the festival's first night back in 2008. That performance was plagued with electrical and sound problems, but hopefully this year’s edition will go down without any hiccups. For their recent tour the band has been reaching way back into its catalog to dust off live rarities left and right, from Pablo Honey’s "Creep" to OK Computer’s "Let Down".
S'mores at Charles Chocolates
If all the music still leaves you hungry for more, don’t miss the mouth party that is Charles Chocolates’ incredibly rich, incredibly delicious and incredibly gooey s’mores featuring homemade marshmallows and graham crackers.
