Welcome to our weekly round-up of what’s happening in the grand concert halls, dimly lit basements, airy cafe’s and grimy sweatboxes across the UK and Ireland. All acts featured come with the Best Fit ‘Seal Of Approval’ so you can be assured that your hard earned cash will be well spent. This week feels like slim pickings as artists gear themselves up for festival season, but to tempt your wallets we’ve gathered dates from the likes of Faye, Saint Saviour and Damon Albarn.
Damon Albarn’s Dr Dee @ London Coliseum, London 25/06
A more developed version of the opera he staged at Manchester’s International Festival last year, Damon Albarn will be bringing his Dr Dee epic to the London Coliseum for a string of evenings from now until 7 July. An operatic piece based on the life of Dr. John Dee, an Elizabethan renaissance man who straddled the intellectual worlds of science and magic, tonight promises to be nothing short of unique as Albarn continues to re-invent himself artistically. Watch below for an in depth look into the opera, courtesy of The Guardian.

Faye & Azure Blue @ Hoxton Sqaure Bar & Kitchen, London 27/06
We’re pretty proud of our latest signing here at Best Fit so needless to say we are damned excited about her performance at the Hoxton Square Bar & Grill. If the Swedish songstress’ siren call hasn’t drawn you into her intoxicating electro pop world yet then her debut UK performance might just be the help you need! Plus Azure Blue and Johan Holmlund’s Flowers in The Air so you really have no excuse do you?

Saint Saviour @ St. Pancras Old Church, London 28/06
It takes a certain kind of voice, and a certain persona to swell the intimate alcoves of St. Pancras Old Church to breaking point but Saint Saviour, the stage name of Becky Jones, is fortunate or even talented enough to occupy this hallowed position. High pitched, honey-suckle vocals are tempered by sweet, sharp timbres and a naive, inspiring angst which in turn is set to softly constructed piano lines.

Chew Lips @ The Louisiana, Bristol 28/06
James Watkins and Tigs, aka Chew Lips, are currently putting the finishing touches to their second album, but their recently revealed track ‘Do You Chew?’ gives some insight into the wondrously pop filled full length effort to come. If that isn’t enough for you though you can head along to their show in Bristol to undoubtedly hear some new tracks.
