Gigs of The Week, 12 April
Welcome to our weekly round-up of shows happening in the grand concert halls, dimly lit basements, airy cafe’s and grimy sweatboxes across the UK and Ireland. All acts featured come with the Best Fit ‘Seal Of Approval’ so you can be assured that your hard earned cash will be well spent. To tempt your wallets this week we’ve gathered dates from the likes of Edwyn Collins, Autre Ne Veut and Kwabs.
Edwyn Collins @ Brudenell Social Club, Leeds 12/04
Having dropped in to record a session exclusively for Best Fit recently, the Ivor Novello Award winning ex-Orange Juice legend is out on tour and you’d be foolish to miss his wry and beautiful live performance.
SOLD OUT. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more Edwyn Collins shows.
Father Sculptor @ Stereo, Glasgow 13/04
Another Scottish offering for you this week but in the shape of Glasgow’s newest indie hopes Father Sculptor, whose low brooding croons will get the mods as excited as the buzz kids.
Tickets are on sale now. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more Father Sculptor shows.
Peace @ The Cluny, Newcastle 14/04
Having just released their debut album In Love, the Birmingham quartet can be caught peddling their baggy, wah-wah guitar wares in Newcastle this week.
SOLD OUT. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more Peace shows.
Kwabs @ Servant Jazz Quarters, London 16/04
We’re not sure what to say other than “what a voice.” I mean, really, if you’ve not listened to Kwabs yet, you need to make amends in a big way. You can start by heading to Dalston in London on Tuesday for an early, seriously intimate show. Bigger things await. Trust us.
Tickets available on the door. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more Kwabs shows.
Autre Ne Veut & Majical Cloudz @ Electrowerks, London 17/04
Two of the hotest bands around at the moment, playing on one bill? What else are you going to do on a Wednesday night?
Tickets are on sale now. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more Autre Ne Veut shows. Check out more Majical Cloudz shows.
And So I Watch You From Afar @ Thekla, Bristol 17/04
Frenzied, chaotic instrumental rock from Belfast’s finests. We absolutely loved their 2011 effort Gangs and got equally excited about their recently released All Hail Bright Futures so we’ll be down the front, thrashing around with the best of them.
Tickets are on sale now. RSVP via Facebook. Check out more And So I Watch You From Afar shows.
