Poppy cancels multiple European shows, says current touring climate "makes it nearly impossible" for US artists to get to Europe
Poppy has cancelled numerous European dates on her upcoming tour, saying that the current climate for touring musicians "makes it nearly impossible for us in the US to get over to most of Europe."
Later this month and in December Poppy was due to come to the UK and Europe for her Never Find My Place tour, and in a statement last Friday (4 November), Poppy announced that the majority of her European shows would no longer be going ahead.
"We have considered all options and unfortunately, we need to cancel a few European dates on the Never Find My Place tour," Poppy wrote. "This isn’t a decision that came easy – with the current climate of the world and the difficulty it presents to touring musicians it makes it nearly impossible for us in the US to get over to most of Europe."
Poppy confirmed that her UK shows, as well as one date in Amsterdam, will still be going ahead, and added, "Apologies to you over this inconvenience - but it is unfortunately out of my hands. Everyone who knows me knows how much I adore playing shows and getting to see you."
