Poppy announces her forthcoming new album Zig
The announcement coincides with the brand new single, "Knockoff".
The video for "Knockoff" is filled with filled with tarot card imagery, Suspiria-inspired choreography, and was directed by Le3ay.
Zig was recorded with producer Ali Payami, as well as her long term collaborative partner Simon Wilcox. Finding inspiration from music that has resonated with her since a child – Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, Blondie, Gary Numan, and Bowie – as well as current artists such as Burial and English DJ Blawan – Poppy began work on the album, on which she also plays guitar and bass.
Poppy released the 2020 album, I Disagree, to much acclaim. The track “BLOODMONEY” earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Metal Performance, making her the first ever solo female artist nominated in the category.
Zig is set for release on 27 October via Sumerian Records, and is available to pre-order.
