Picture Parlour release their debut single "Norwegian Wood"
Picture Parlour release their debut single, which coincides with their first major interview – as NME’s latest Cover stars.
Recorded in RAK Studio 2 by Steph Marziano and mixed by Alan Moulder, the song is a confession to a loved one inspired by Haruki Murakami’s novel Norwegian Wood and its relationship with the iconic Beatles track.
Picture Parlour are comprised of Liverpool’s Katherine Parlour and North Yorkshire-born guitarist Ella Risi. The pair began writing together during the pandemic, developing their own sound, and drawing inspiration from the likes of Patti Smith and Nick Cave. Since then, they have relocated to London and expanded into a four-piece with the addition of bassist Sian Lynch and drummer Michael Nash.
"Norwegian Wood" is out now. Picture Parlour play American Express presents BST Hyde Park on 6 July supporting Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. Remaining tickets on sale now at bst-hydepark.com.
