Pickle Darling shares the title track to their forthcoming album Laundromat
New Zealand singer-songwriter Lukas Mayo, also known as Pickle Darling shares the single “Laundromat".
"Laundromat" follows the previous singles, "Invercargill Angel", "Head Terrarium", and "King of Joy". The release is accompanied by a lyric video put together by Mayo and their partner Christiane Shortal.
On the track, Pickle Darling says: "I had the album title before I wrote this song, strangely! One of the initial ideas of the album was to write like, “mundane hymns” and this was one of the first I wrote with that in mind. I was going to write everyday kinds of songs about the world from the perspective of various objects, and this one was from a washing machine’s perspective. It’s a pretty terrible concept that I’ll probably revisit one day when I’m out of ideas."
"Laundromat" is out now. Laundromat, the album, will arrive on 16 June via Father/Daughter Records.
