Phoebe Bridgers launches vegan benefit taco named after her dog Maxine
Phoebe Bridgers has teamed up with LA restaurant HomeState to create a vegan taco named after her dog Maxine, and a portion of sales from each taco will benefit the non-profit organisation CASA of Los Angeles.
HomeState has announced the launch of The Maxine, a new vegan taco created by Phoebe Bridgers that features black beans, shiitake mushrooms, avocado, caramelised onions and crispy corn strips on a corn tortilla.
The taco, named after Bridgers' pug Maxine, will see $1.25 of every Maxine taco sold donated to CASA of Los Angeles, a non-profit organisation who "organise individual members of the community to take action and advocate for children and families in LA County's overburdened child welfare and juvenile justice systems."
Bridgers says of the collaboration, "HomeState is one of my favourite local restaurants; Maxine and I should probably be cut off from their breakfast tacos by now."
HomeState has previously collaborated with other artists including Spoon, Vampire Weekend, Khruangbin, Questlove and more.
The Maxine vegan taco created by Bridgers will be available from today (23 August) until 22 November at all of HomeState's LA locations.
