Philip Selway gives Radiohead update: "At the moment everybody's doing their own thing"
Philip Selway has shared an update on Radiohead's recent activity, revealing that "everybody's doing their own thing" for now, but fans can expect something in the "next couple of years".
Back in January Philip Selway revealed that Radiohead were planning to "get together" soon to potentially "start looking at other ideas for what comes next," and in a new update via Prog magazine [through Music News], Selway revealed that fans will have to wait for a couple of years, as everyone is "doing their own thing".
Selway said, "We're always talking about stuff. But in terms of an actual kind of collective project, beyond the Kid A and Amnesiac stuff that we've been doing [2021's Kid AMnesia reissue project], it's kind of further down the line for us when that will happen. We're talking about that, but at the moment everybody's doing their own thing."
"When the pandemic happened, we'd always planned to take a vear off from Radiohead around that, so we could get on with other stuff," Selway continued. "But that just meant that those other projects kind of grew, so we're allowing time for all of those projects to go where they need to. But yeah, we'll get together soon and in the next couple of years there will be something there, of some sort."
Last month Philip Selway released his new solo album Strange Dance, which featured contributions from Hannah Peel, Marta Salogni, Laura Moody, Adrian Utley, Quinta and Valentina Magaletti.
