Patti Smith honours Vivienne Westwood with performance of "Redondo Beach" at Brooklyn show
Patti Smith paid tribute to the late Vivienne Westwood during one of her Brooklyn shows last week by performing "Redondo Beach".
On 29 December it was announced that the legendary fashion designer Vivienne Westwood died 81. Chrissie Hynde, Garbage, Boy George, Billy Idol, YUNGBLUD, Sean Ono Lennon, Bryan Adams, Jodie Harsh and more paid tribute to the late icon, and Patti Smith also honoured Westwood at her Brooklyn Steel show that night with a performance of "Redondo Beach".
Before playing the track, Smith told the crowd, "I'd like to do a little song remembering Vivienne Westwood." After the song, she added, "Goodbye, Vivienne."
Back in November Smith released A Book of Days, which is inspired by her Instagram and features over 365 photos.
November also saw Soundwalk Collective with Patti Smith release The Perfect Vision deluxe box set via Bella Union.
