Paramore, Lorde, Miley Cyrus and The National feature on A24's Talking Heads tribute album
A24 Music has announced the compilation Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense, which comes in celebration of the recent re-release of Jonathan Demme’s iconic concert film of the same name.
Everyone’s Getting Involved sees the likes of Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Paramore, The National, girl in red, BADBADNOTGOOD, The Linda Lindas, Blondshell, The Cavemen, Jean Dawson, Kevin Abstract, Toro y Moi, and more coming together to reimagine sounds from the iconic soundtrack.
The first song to be released from the forthcoming tribute album is Paramore's take on "Burning Down The House".
The accompanying soundtrack album, Stop Making Sense, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with the reissue featuring two previously unreleased songs from the film – "Cities" and "Big Business / I Zimbra".
The 40th anniversary screenings brought together the four core members of Talking Heads for the first time since 2002, with David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison participating in a number of on-stage conversations to discuss their memories of the legendary film and album.
Paramore's cover of "Burning Down The House" is out now. Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense will follow later this year.
