Olivia Rodrigo announces brand new single "Vampire"
Last month, Olivia Rodrigo took to her socials to announce that new music was almost completed.
During the two year anniversary of her Grammy-winning debut album, SOUR, Rodrigo took a moment to celebrate the release, and reveal that her new material was "so close to being done".
Yesterday evening, she returned to announce the forthcoming single, "Vampire", which is her first release of original music since her 2021 debut album, SOUR. The new track was written with her longtime collaborator Dan Nigro.
As written in a press release, ""Vampire" is the sound of an artist firmly in control, imbued with a sense of maturity and a bold confidence… With "Vampire", she is poised to begin an exciting new chapter.”
Since the release of SOUR, Rodrigo has performed "Torn" onstage with Natalie Imbruglia, inducted Alanis Morissette into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, released a concert film titled driving home 2 u (a SOUR film), and also picked up three GRAMMY Awards for Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance.
"Vampires" is set to be released on 30 June via Geffen Records.
