Oliver Sim releases new track "Run The Credits"
Oliver Sim has unveiled new song "Run The Credits" as a final taster of his debut solo album Hideous Bastard before it arrives in full tomorrow (9 September).
Following the release of previous singles "GMT", "Hideous", "Fruit" and "Romance With A Memory", Sim has shared a final preview of the record titled "Run The Credits".
"I very much see this album as a queer horror film, and I wrote "Run The Credits" as the closing scenes of the film," Sim explains. "Sonically, I think it's quite a joyous and celebratory song, but lyrically it’s quite open ended and has a lot of anger. It was also an opportunity to pay homage to some of the characters I love the most in cinema like Patrick Bateman and Buffalo Bill. I’ve loved those characters since I was a little boy. I never identified with the Disney princes or the action heroes - the villains and the final girls are the ones who excited me and who I aspired to be."
In August Hideous Bastard producer and Sim's xx bandmate Jamie xx remixed "GMT".
Last week Sim cancelled his upcoming shows in September and October.
"Run The Credits" is out now. Oliver Sim's debut solo album Hideous Bastard will be released tomorrow (9 September) via Young, and is available to pre-order now.
