Noah Cyrus unites with Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard on new ballad "Every Beginning Ends"
Noah Cyrus and Death Cab For Cutie's Ben Gibbard have joined forces on "Every Beginning Ends", a new ballad due to appear on her debut album The Hardest Part.
"Every Beginning Ends" is Cyrus' first outing since June's "Ready To Go", and will appear on her debut album The Hardest Part with previous singles "Mr. Percocet" and "I Burned LA Down".
Cyrus told Rolling Stone of the collaboration, "We talked about past relationships, failed relationships, our parents’ relationships, and relationships that have lasted forever. He told me his dad has a saying: ‘you have to wake up and choose to love someone every day,’ and it sparked this conversational song about the twilight of a relationship and the reluctance to admit that something has run its course. I relate to that in many ways, not only with me, but also just with my parents’ relationship. Writing about that gave me more understanding."
Gibbard added, "I kept coming back to it and just basking in her brilliance. It's easy to be mysterious. It’s easy to be aloof. It's easy to be cool. It’s so much harder to be earnest, and it’s so much harder because she’s really opening herself up with a lot of these songs."
Earlier this month Death Cab For Cutie released "Foxglove Through The Clearcut" as the third outing from their Asphalt Meadows album.
Cyrus worked on The Hardest Part with producer Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, Ben Howard, The 1975, Wolf Alice).
"Every Beginning Ends" with Ben Gibbard is out now. Noah Cyrus' debut album The Hardest Part will be released on 16 September via RECORDS / Columbia Records.
