Nines reveals he "won’t be able to retire for long"
Nines recently joined Capital XTRA Breakfast with Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie to discuss his final album.
Earlier this month, Nines announced his monumental tenth project, Quit While You’re Ahead, and stated that it would be his final album.
Speaking about whether he is confident that he will not be making anymore releases, Nines said: “I’m out. I’m tapping out. I’m sure you lot can name a good list of rappers that you think should have quit while they were ahead, right? Exactly. Everyone be like, ‘Jay-Z came back.’ Do I look like Jay-Z? I'm Nines, bro. Jay-Z is Jay-Z."
When probed further on what retirement will look like for him, he continued: “I don't think I'll be able to retire for long. It's just retired from rap, but I'm definitely going to take a break from everything, just try and chill out. But I'll probably end up back on a film set ASAP, like I'll be working. I'm still part of the culture, part of the scene. It's not rapping though."
Quit While You're Ahead is out now. Tune into Capital XTRA Breakfast with Robert Bruce & Shayna Marie weekdays from 6:30am-10:00am, also available on the Global Player app.
