niina announces her forthcoming EP, Apple Juice
One of electronic music’s most versatile new talents, the London-based artist niina, announces her forthcoming EP, Apple Juice, alongside its title track.
The accompanying self-directed video to "Apple Juice" is a conceptual performance filmed almost totally improvised, showcasing niina’s prowess as not only a talented producer and vocalist, but also her aptitude as a visual artist.
“The apple juice EP feels a bit like the calm after the storm, the summer after the summer in the rain. It feels more grounded and less chaotic, less about the extremes of emotion and more about different colours of emotion and understanding/observing scenarios and feelings for what they are and the moment in time they capture," niina explains. "Creating the EP has been a very interesting experience for me, each track feels like an experimentation of sounds that have opened up a path for where my music may lead to next, so i'm really excited to have it out in the world and see how that influences whats to come.”
Today’s announcement follows on from tongue-in-cheek warm up single "gimme gimme" and niina’s debut EP, 100 dollar bill.
Reintroducing herself last month as an enigmatic female collective, niina is more than just a producer, niina is also a singer-songwriter, a creative director and a community. In the real world niina is a community of like minded individuals who come together to form an interchangeable girl group, identifiable through the soon to be iconic pink wig. Anyone can be a niina girl, and collectively they are the voice and face of niina delivering a message of empowerment, confidence, escapism and living for the moment.
niina's forthcoming EP, Apple Juice, is set for release on 16 November.
