Music Venue Trust reveals first recipients of Pipeline Investment Fund
Music Venue Trust has revealed the first 11 UK grassroots music venues that have received grants as part of its Pipeline Investment Fund.
Back in October Music Venue Trust launched its Pipeline Investment Fund, which aimed to provide UK grassroots music venues grants of up to £5000 to support "small scale capital applications" such as sound, lights, ventilation, access and "minor building alterations", as well as "staff and training".
Today (6 December) the first 11 recipients of the fund have been revealed, which features London's Servant Jazz Quarters and Chats Palace, as well as The Louisiana in Bristol, Manchester's Retro, and other venues in Sheffield, Chester, Halifax, Colchester, Atherton, Kinross and Ayr.
Music Venue Trust CEO Mark Davyd said, "The Pipeline Investment Fund is proof of what a huge difference relatively small amounts of money can make to local Grassroots Music Venues. Music Venue Trust is investing this money directly into facilities for artists and for local music communities improving venues for everyone. We’d like to see every stadium and arena show in the country making a small contribution to this fund. Every headline artist should be able to know with confidence that when they reach the top of our industry the impact of their success ripples back to directly support the venues and communities where the launched their career. MVT has created the mechanism to make that possible, we need the music industry to come together and make it happen."
The Pipeline Investment Fund was launched following support of the Music Venues Alliance members, and was largely funded by donations from ticket sales of Music Venue Trust's Revive Live UK gigs.
