Music Venue Trust announces 14 new recipients of Pipeline Investment Fund
Music Venue Trust has started 2023 by announcing 14 new UK grassroots music venues that have received grants as part of its Pipeline Investment Fund.
After revealing the first 11 recipients of the Pipeline Investment Fund last month, Music Venue Trust has revealed that a further 14 venues have received grants of up to £5,000. Those venues include London's Fiddler's Elbow and Fighting Cocks, Bristol's Cloak and Dagger, Brighton's Folklore Rooms, Suburbia in Southampton, Newport's Westgate Hotel, The Lughole in Sheffield, and other venues in Cliftonville, Chelmsford, Liverpool, Crumlin, Coventry and Bradford.

The Pipeline Investment Fund was announced in October last year, and aims to provide UK grassroots music venues grants of up to £5000 to support "small scale capital applications" such as sound, lights, ventilation, access and "minor building alterations", as well as "staff and training".
Music Venue Trust's fund was launched following support of the Music Venues Alliance members, and was largely funded by donations from ticket sales of Music Venue Trust's Revive Live UK gigs.
Mark Davyd, CEO of Music Venue Trust, said, "Distributing almost £70,000 to 14 grassroots music venues is a really positive way to start 2023 and is further proof that our Pipeline Investment Fund can make a real difference to individual venues. It is really important, however, that we don’t get complacent; this initiative has had a real impact but it is only the start of what we need long-term. We still need the wider industry to back us with real financial commitments so that we protect the fabric and integrity of the grassroots venue sector, which continues to face serious challenges on an ever increasing number of fronts. We are also pleased to announce that our 2022 Annual Report will be presented to MPs at The House of Commons later this month. Although it makes for sobering reading, it clearly sets out what we need from government to help our sector survive and thrive."
