
MUNA's Naomi McPherson to make their acting debut as Janis Ian in SNL 1975
Producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Naomi McPherson of MUNA, is set to make their acting debut as Janis Ian in Jason Reitman’s forthcoming film SNL 1975.
The film pays homage to the first episode of Saturday Night Live aired in October 1975. Its host was George Carlin, and its musical guests were Billy Preston and Janis Ian. Jon Batiste will play Billy Preston as well as handling the film's score. The film is set to look at the behind-the-scenes moments before the first episode aired, and may feature McPherson singing Ian's songs “At Seventeen” and “In the Winter.”
Other actors in the film have been revealed as Nicholas Braun as Jim Henson, Kaia Gerber as Jacqueline Carlin, JK Simmons as Milton Berle, and Finn Wolfhard as an NBC page.
There is yet to be a release date for SNL 1975.
