Ms. Lauryn Hill announces 25th anniversary tour for The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill
Earlier this year, Ms. Lauryn Hill celebrated the 25th anniversary of her debut solo album, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill.
She celebrated the anniversary with specially curated sets at Essence Festival and the Roots Picnic. In honour of her one and only solo album, Hill reunited with The Fugees at the latter festival, following the cancellation of their reunion tour.
The surprise reunion marked the first time that the trio had played together since a NYC gig in September 2023. They were supposed to embark on a reunion tour for their 25th anniversary, but it was ultimately cancelled due to the pandemic.
They performed classic hits such as "Ready or Not", "Killing Me Softly", "Zealot", and "Fu-Gee-La", in what was thought to be their final show together as Pras Michel is currently facing 20 years in prison after being found guilty in a political conspiracy case which spanned both the Obama and Trump administrations.
It has now been revealed that The Fugees will be co-headlining the North American dates, which means they may just still perform a small reunion tour as no sentencing date has been set for Michel.

“The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator," Hill said in a press release. "I wrote love songs and protest songs—(still love songs) about the subjects and interests that inspired and moved me. I was confident that what inspired me would resonate with an audience that had been led to believe that songs of that kind could only live in the past.”
She continued, “I loved music, I loved people, I truly felt grateful to God for my life, and genuinely blessed to have a platform where I could share wisdom and perspective through music. I felt a charge to challenge the idea that certain kinds of expression and/or certain kinds of people didn’t belong in certain places. I loved showing what could work or happen provided there was imagination, creativity, and LOVE leading the way.”
The 25th anniversary tour is set to kick off in October. For more information, visit mslaurynhill.com.
