Mouth Ulcers announce debut album, You're Not In Heaven
London goth four-piece Mouth Ulcers have revealed plans for their first album, You're Not In Heaven, and shared lead single "Lady Rust".
Formed in 2025 by vocalist and guitarist Zak Watson, alongside guitarist and vocalist Josephine Rose, bassist Jamie-Lee Culver and drummer David Zbirka, the band first made their debut with their EP, Silent Pictures. The band interpret modern goth through a post-punk lens, referencing the minimalism of Joy Division and the moody, romantic atmosphere of The Cure and Bauhaus.
"Lady Rust" arrives as the first preview of the collection of songs. Discussing the track, Watson explains: "'Lady Rust' tells the story about an ancient vampire that guards the land of a former Manor House. The house is slowly deteriorating, walls are falling apart and collapsing like the skin on her bones. 'Lady Rust' continues to live on as a legend of the land with many trying to visit the house but few managing to escape."
Mouth Ulcers are looking ahead at several performances to close out the rest of the year, with an appearance at Cardiff's Sŵn Festival tomorrow (16 October), followed by live dates in Brighton, Leeds, London, and more, alongside further festival spots including Mutations Festival, London Calling in Amsterdam, and Rockaway Beach Festival.
You're Not In Heaven is released on 23 April 2027 via LAB Records
