Moses Sumney taps Syd and Meshell Ndegeocello for reimagined track, "Hey Girl(s)"
Moses Sumney has joined forces with former Odd Future member Syd and Meshell Ndegeocello on a new track, "Hey Girl(s)".
The collaboration is a reimagined version of the Sophcore track, "Hey Girl". The release marked Moses Sumney's first musical output in three years. In 2021, Moses Sumney released the live album Live From Blackalachia. Since then, he has contributed to soundtracks for The Idol and Everything Everywhere All at Once in the time since then, and stars in the most recent TI West film, MaXXXine. His last full-length release was 2020’s Græ.
"I was excited when Moses thought of me for this song because I love his voice, it’s just otherworldly, and this song spoke to me because of the way he pushes a romantic narrative into the future. It was a pleasure to get a glimpse into his process and an honor to be part of it," Ndegeocello says of the collaboration.
