Moonchild Sanelly unveils new songs "Kokokokoko" and "Mama’s Love"
Moonchild Sanelly has delivered two new tracks with producer Theology HD titled "Kokokokoko" and "Mama’s Love".
The new songs mark Moonchild Sanelly's first releases since appearing on Moliy's "Hard" single last month, and see her work with producer Theology HD. "Mama's Love" is a new version of Theology HD's original that landed in April, and "Kokokokoko" features Jidenna.
"On these singles I’ve worked with Theology and my good friend Jidenna on "Kokokokoko"," Moonchild Sanelly says. "Theology is always there with me, always making stuff. Every time I call him he’s ready, anytime something is needed with regards to dance music in South Africa he’s always ready for me. We’ve got this relationship that’s beautiful and authentic and so we just always keep making stuff. I love how open minded he is and how involved he is because he makes music every day… and Jidenna, what an honour - I had this song in mind and thought he could really rock it, and he’s always got my back so was like ‘let’s do it!'"
She adds, "For "Mama’s Love", the song already existed, so we did a vocal remix of a song that was already trending and big at the clubs, as it’s always been one of his that i’ve always loved and now it’s going to be insane to drop it!"
Theology HD says, "The collaboration with Moonchild Sanelly means a lot because she felt like adding a message on what she felt about her mother so I can say is a dedication song to her mother and all the love she shared with her. Working together was a great combination with the same feeling for our mothers and the love they gave us."
Back in June Moonchild Sanelly released her Phases album. Since then she's worked with Nakhane and Nile Rodgers, as well as Jelani Blackman.
Moonchild Sanelly's "Kokokokoko" and "Mama’s Love" songs are both out now on Transgressive.
