Moby unveils plans for first live shows in a decade to celebrate 25th anniversary of Play
Acclaimed musician and activist Moby has announced his first live dates in over a decade, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Play, alongside news of a forthcoming album.
Moby will be donating 100% of the tour profits to European animal rights organisations. The short tour will take place across Europe, and include a date at The O2 in London.
Alongside news of the forthcoming tour, Moby has announced the brand new album, Always Centered At Night, which features collaborations with the late Benjamin Zephaniah, Serpentwithfeet, Gaidaa and Lady Blackbird.
“It's been over 10 years since I've toured, but someone reminded me that 2024 is the 25th anniversary of the release of Play, so it seemed like it might not be the worst idea to do a short European tour to commemorate and celebrate. The show will feature well-known songs from Play, but also a bunch of audience favourites, like ‘Extreme Ways,’ ‘We Are All Made Of Stars,’ ‘When It's Cold I'd Like to Die,’ and even some old rave bangers like ‘Feeling So Real’ and ‘Go.’ What makes the tour most exciting for me is that I won't be paid anything. 100% of my profits will go to European animal rights organizations," Moby explains.
always centred at night is due for release on 14 June. Pre-sale for the forthcoming tour begins on 20 March at 10am. For more information, visit moby.com.
