Mitski has announced her forthcoming album, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We
In a newsletter to her fans, Mitski announces her forthcoming seventh studio album.
“Hi, this is Mitski, and I’m at Bomb Shelter Studios in Nashville, where we recorded my new album that’s coming out,” Mitski said in a voice memo that was included in her official newsletter. “It’s called The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, and its first single is coming out on Wednesday.”
The forthcoming album will be the follow up to Laurel Hell which arrived in 2022. Following the album's release, Mitski partnered with Rough Trade to release a limited edition EP on vinyl including some of the demos.
No further details have been released about The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We.
Earlier this year, Mitski was nominated for an Oscar for the song she worked on alongside David Byrne and Son Lux for the Everything Everywhere All At Once soundtrack.
The lead single from Mitski's forthcoming album is set for release on 26 July.
