Miss Tiny announce details of their debut EP DEN7
Miss Tiny also share their brand new single, "The Beggar".
"The Beggar" premiered this morning with Lauren Laverne as her New Music Fix track on BBC Radio 6 Music. Miss Tiny’s universe is a thoroughly explored romance of heritage, rebellion, and a years old friendship between co-conspirators producer / guitarist Dan Carey and vocalist / drummer Benjamin Romans-Hopcraft (Childhood, Warmduscher).
Speaking about the new single, Miss Tiny say: “"The Beggar" seeks to address how relationships can sometimes slip into a struggle for some form of power over a shared situation. What usually happens feels like a futile war for vindication, and usually ends up with both parties being equally as weak as the other.”
"The Beggar" follows their debut single, "The Sound", which was released in February, and comes with an accompanying visualiser created by Cassie Moles.
Originally banded together as What It’s Like To Be A Bat - taking the name of an essay written by American philosopher Thomas Nagel - Miss Tiny debuted their new venture at Brixton’s The Windmill back in 2022. Later deciding that their namesake, despite all ideological intentions, was perhaps slightly “too evil sounding”, Miss Tiny (a nickname given to Romans-Hopcraft’s grandmother who passed away during recording) was born. Or rather, re-imagined.
Produced and recorded at Carey’s Speedy Wunderground studio in Streatham, DEN7 is the first fuller offering from Miss Tiny.
"The Beggar" is out now. Miss Tiny's debut EP – DEN7 – arrives on 21 July via Speedy Wunderground.
