Miley Cyrus reacts to Adele shout out: "Mission accomplished"
During a recent show at her Las Vegas residency, Adele took a moment to praise Miley Cyrus and call her a "legend".
Miley Cyrus released "Used To Be Young" on Friday, as a standalone single following the release of her eight studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, which arrived in March.
In a statement posted on her X (Twitter) account, Cyrus wrote: "This song is about honoring who we’ve been, loving who we are & celebrating who we will become. I feel proud when reflecting on my past and joyful when thinking about the future. I am grateful to my loyal fans who make my dreams a reality daily. I am sincerely thankful for the stability of your steadfast support. This song is for you."
"I am obsessed with Miley Cyrus' new song, has anybody heard it?" Adele said, addressing the concertgoers, following its release. "I've always been a big Miley Cyrus fan, and I've got such a soft spot for nostalgia, and that song –– might make me tear up now –– I think she's absolutely amazing. She's such a legend. I love her."
.@Adele, I thought of you often while writing this song - always hoped that you would love it. This means the world to me. I love you. Mission accomplished. https://t.co/w1l8igUXSb

After the video had circulated online, it happened to be spotted by Cyrus who then shared her own message of love and gratitude to Adele: "I thought of you often while writing this song - always hoped that you would love it. This means the world to me. I love you. Mission accomplished."
Alongside the new single, Cyrus has announced a new video series in which she reflects on her life over the past three decades.
"Sometimes it feels like my life started when Hannah Montana was born. But before Hannah there was Miley. My fantasy was to light up the world with laughter, music & iconic moments that last beyond my lifetime. Decades later I continue to fulfill my purpose because of the love provided by my fans," she wrote, before encouraging fans to keep an eye on her TikTok page over the next few days.
