Miley Cyrus announces her latest single, "Used To Be Young"
After days of teasing fans, Miley Cyrus announces the brand new single, "Used To Be Young".
Earlier this week, fans had noticed billboards dotted around which featured a new picture of Miley Cyrus, and appeared to be teasing new music. Today, she has confirmed that a new single is on the way.
"In celebration of my new single release, Endless Summer Vacation (backyard sessions) continues," she wrote on her socials. "This time with a retrospective interview sharing stories about the first 30 years of my life in honor of U2BY. This song is dedicated to my loyal fans. I love YOU for loving every version of ME."
"Used To Be Young" follows her eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, which was released earlier this year, and featured the hit single, "Flowers".

This brand new single arrives just a few short months of Cyrus addressing her hiatus from touring. After an interview with British Vogue was taken out of context, she posted a statement to her fans. "Singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love. There’s no connection. There’s no safety," she said during the interview. "It’s also not natural. It’s so isolating because if you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone". The question, which hung on her lips was simple: "Do I want to live my life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfilment other than my own?"
"This has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation for the fans & everything to do with I simply don't want to get ready in a locker room. Which is the reality of life on the road," she said, addressing her fans. Going on to list the impracticalities of touring, such as sleeping on a moving bus, and the logistics of travelling with an extensive wardrobe, Cyrus ended the note with: "if you've been following my career you know that I always change and the way I feel about that could too. Love you forever , I'm just on my Endless Summer Vacation."
