MF Tomlinson releases We Are Still Wild Horses - Remixed
MF Tomlinson today releases We Are Still Wild Horses - Remixed, a new collection of remixes, re-evaluations, reinterpretations and reprises of his critically acclaimed second album.
We Are Still Wild Horses - Remixed features contributions from London experimental trio Voka Gentle, Dama Dama-signed United Freedom Collective, Anglo-French electronic producer Julia-Sophie, and Whileman. The Remixed project also coincides with the release of the original album in immersive Dolby Atmos.
United Freedom Collective's re-interpretation of "Winter Time Blues" is a sparkling highlight from the Remixed project. Of the remix, MF Tomlinson said: "Listening to this is a trip! Robbie, Mathieu & WaiFung have taken this tune and twisted it like a rubix cube in the best possible way! The arrangement emerges from all angles but they've kept that simmering tension that's at the core of it - just now it's kinda funky too -that's a result! They've of course brought their signature sound to it which is amazing to hear as while the output of our two projects is at times quite different, we share so many of the same influences. It's a parallel universe kinda feeling - on brand for these cosmic dudes. Thanks United Freedom Collective!"
Speaking more on the new Remixed release as a whole, MF Tomlinson said: "It's been very touching to hear each one of these remixes come back - these producers have laboured over these sounds the same way I did and found incredible new arrangements. I can hear how much time, work and consideration has gone into each one of these pieces - to have such talented people engage with the album on such a level is one of the highest compliments I could ever hope to receive. Thank you Voka Gentle, Whileman, United Freedom Collective and Julia-Sophie!"
MF Tomlinson supports James Yorkston and Nina Persson at Bush Hall in London on 5 December and has recently announced two further dates in Scotland at Celtic Connections in Glasgow on 30 January and a headline show at Sneaky Pete's in Edinburgh on 31 January as part of Independent Venue Week.
Meticulously upgraded to Dolby Atmos for the headphones and Remixed for the dance floors - the two new versions of We Are Still Wild Horses are out now via PRAH Recordings.
