Metronomy drummer Anna Prior presents new single, "Up2U"
DJ, producer and drummer Anna Prior has released the brand new single, "Up2U", ahead of her forthcoming EP, Almost Love.
The single thematically serves as an easily universalisable mantra of control which Anna Prior has aimed to internalise, as she explains: “This song is about my own indecisions. I feel like it’s the phrase most often said to me by my friends and loved ones. It serves as a reminder that my life is mine and I can live it how I choose, it serves to stop me getting hung up on decisions and really take ownership of my life.”
"Up2U" follows Prior's percussive approach to electronic music, which is an extension of her crate-digging Soho Radio show, The Beat Palace (also the name of the label she founded championing female and non-binary DJs and producers). She describes her DJ sets as "explorative missions into the rhythmic unknown."
Almost Love EP is out on 13 June via House Anxiety.
