Mega Bog announces new album with lead single "The Clown"
Mega Bog, real name Erin Elizabeth Birgy, has announced her seventh album End of Everything, and has delivered "The Clown" as the lead outing.
"The Clown" is Mega Bog's first release of 2023, following 2021's Life, and Another album, and lands with a self-directed video.
Birgy says of the new single, ""The Clown" is about the terrible, sensual, and chaotic release of merging one’s own multitudes, showing love to the darkness and insecurities, having curiosity about what is beyond presumed perceptions - surrendering to the uncontrollables, while nourishing the small statues of what we do have control over within ourselves."
End of Everything saw Birgy write using a piano and synthesiser instead of guitar, and was was recorded with Big Thief's James Krivchenia, who co-produced the album with Birgy and played drums. The album features Mega Bog's Zach Burba on bass, and electric guitars from Will Segerstrom, Meg Duffy (Hand Habits), and Jackson Macintosh (Drugdealer, TOPS). Westerman also contributed vocals to a track titled "Love Is".
