McKinley Dixon reveals title track for Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!?
McKinley Dixon unveils "Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!?" (feat Ms. Jaylin Brown) – the title track for his upcoming full-length album.
"Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!?" is the final taste of the eponymous album, following singles "Sun, I Rise" feat. Angélica Garcia, "Tyler, Forever'" – which reached the B-list at BBC 6Music – and "Run, Run, Run," which currently sits on the A-list.
In addition to music videos for his singles McKinley released what he dubbed, a 'Kitchen Table session' for each of his previous tracks. Inspired by Carrie Mae Weems’ seminal photo collection, The Kitchen Tables Series – a collection known for exploring the self in collective experiences at a kitchen table and a landmark in Black representation in American fine art.
Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!? will mark Dixon's first album for City Slang Records, but will follow 2021's For My Mama and Anyone Who Look Like Her. The album will feature contributions from Hanif Abdurraqib, Teller Bank$, Alfred., Ghais Guevara, Anjimile and Seline Haze.
McKinley Dixon's Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!? album will arrive on 2 June via City Slang Records, and is available to pre-order now. He'll play London's Old Blue Last on 16 May.
