Margo Price announces new album featuring Sharon Van Etten, Lucius and more
Margo Price has shared news of her forthcoming album Strays, which will feature Sharon Van Etten, Lucius and more, and has unveiled new single "Change of Heart" to accompany the announcement.
"Change of Heart" lands with a Courtney Hoffman-directed video, and is the second track to be lifted from Price's new record after August's "Been To The Mountain".
Strays will follow Price's 2020 album That’s How Rumors Get Started, and is produced by Price alongside Jonathan Wilson. The majority of the new album was recorded across the space of a week at Fivestar Studio in Topanga Canyon, California in summer 2021. Strays will also feature additional vocals from Sharon Van Etten, Mike Campbell and Lucius.
Price says, "I feel this urgency to keep moving, keep creating. You get stuck in the same patterns of thinking, the same loops of addiction. But there comes a point where you just have to say, ‘I'm going to be here, I'm going to enjoy it, and I'm not going to put so much stock into checking the boxes for everyone else.’ I feel more mature in the way that I write now, I’m on more than just a search for large crowds and accolades. I’m trying to find what my soul needs."
