Marcus Mumford says Phoebe Bridgers wanted to sing on "Stonecatcher" because he used the word "heinous"
Marcus Mumford has revealed that Phoebe Bridgers wanted to contribute vocals to his (self-titled) track "Stonecatcher" because he used the word "heinous" in the lyrics.
Last Friday (16 September) Mumford released his debut solo album (self-titled), and as well as featuring appearances from Brandi Carlile, Clairo and Monica Martin, Phoebe Bridgers made an appearance on "Stonecatcher".
In a recent interview with Variety, Mumford spoke about how Bridgers ended up featuring on the song, and how the use of the word "heinous" in the song sealed the deal.
He said, "Phoebe came in and heard the word 'heinous', and she said, 'Dude, did you get the word heinous into a song? I'll sing on it'."
Last month it was revealed that Phoebe Bridgers and Snail Mail’s Lindsey Jordan are among the musicians that will appear in the upcoming A24 horror film I Saw the TV Glow.
Marcus Mumford's debut solo album (self-titled) is out now.
