Manchester Orchestra unleash COPE Live at The Earl celebrating the album's tenth anniversary
In celebration of their fourth album’s tenth anniversary, Manchester Orchestra have unleashed the new album and concert film, COPE Live at The Earl.
Recorded for a sweaty crowd of fanclub members in East Atlanta’s storied and scrappy, 300-capacity club, the new album and concert film have immortalised the energy that fuelled these songs from the start.
“COPE remains my favorite little piece of madness that we have conjured as Manchester Orchestra. The album was made during a time of both exhilarating freedom and an understandable fear of our future. Being 100 percent independent at the time, I look back proudly at our band. We created what we internally needed to create, regardless of anyone’s opinions but our own," says frontman Andy Hull.
"As I’m sitting here writing this I realize that’s what COPE really means to me. It’s an album of persevering, laughing our way through the fog and kicking all of the ass while doing it," Hull adds.
Manchester Orchestra will return to UK this summer for 2000trees Festival in Cheltenham before heading back to the US in September for their COPE tenth Anniversary Tour.
COPE Live at The Earl is available on all digital platforms via Loma Vista Recordings, and will be followed by a physical LP and CD release on 6 September, available to pre-order now.
