13 December 2024, 10:00 | Written by The Line of Best Fit

Teenage art-punks Man/Woman/Chainsaw, and sensitive slacker-country four piece vegas water taxi are the final names announced today for Best Fit's new music festival, the Five Day Forecast, which runs from 13-17 January at The Lexington in London.

Breaking new sonic ground by ripping up the rule book, London five piece Man/Woman/Chainsaw (pictured above) are the most exciting live band in the UK right now. The roots of their collaboration trace back to their school days, with work emails shared in sixth form hallways and collaboration offers chatted over in lunch breaks. The Fat Possum-signed DIY outfit found their dynamic approach to making music in the raw energy of live performances, with more than 100 gigs under their belts since debuting aged 16.

Ben Hambro co-founded vegas water taxi (pictured above) as a more introspective, lyrically focussed project in 2022 following the breakup of his former band Lazarus Kane. Alongside core members Fred Lawton and Charlie Meyrick, they self-released their first album things are gonna be alright last November. Recorded in just two days, the record became a word-of-mouth favourite, with its David Berman-esque bon mots floating upon alt-country instrumentation reminiscent of Bill Callahan’s Knock Knock-era Smog.

Vegas water taxi will open open for Brown Horse and Good Looks on Tuesday, 14 January while. Man/Woman/Chainsaw are added as special guests on Friday, 17 January alongside Cardinals and Search Results. Taking place at The Lexington in London from 13-17 January 2025, this year's line-up also features The Belair Lip Bombs, Greg Mendez andAdult DVD heading up five nights of incredible music with tickets on sale now.

Over the last ten years, the Five Day Forecast has featured Mercury Music prize nominees Self Esteem, Jockstrap, Porridge Radio and Black Country New Road as well as early shows from the likes of Pale Waves, Katy J Pearson, Squid, as well as debut UK performances from Snail Mail, Soccer Mommy, Gia Margaret, Faye Webster and more.

Tickets for each night of the Five Day Forecast go on sale on Wednesday, 13 November at 10am via DICE and are priced at £13 + booking fee, or you can pick up a five-day pass for £52 + booking fee.
