Mae Muller to represent UK at 2023 Eurovision Song Contest
It's been revealed that Mae Muller will be the UK's entry for this year's Eurovision Song Contest, which is taking place in Liverpool on behalf of Ukraine.
Muller will perform her new single "I Wrote A Song" at this year's Eurovision in May, and hopes to follow the success of Sam Ryder, who represented the UK in 2022 and placed second.
BBC reports that Muller said, "Sam Ryder was so amazing last year and proved the UK can be back on the left-hand side of the leaderboard."
She added of her own involvement, "To compete in such a massive music competition is simply brilliant."
The UK was selected to host the 2023 Eurovision back in June 2022 after placing second in last year's contest. Ukraine was ruled out following a "full assessment" on "safety and security issues" due to the ongoing war.
The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Liverpool on behalf of Ukraine on 9, 11 and 13 May. Visit eurovision.tv for more information.
