Louis VI announces new album featuring Moses Boyd, Mick Jenkins, Lex Amor and more
Louis VI has shared news of his upcoming second album EARTHLING, and has teamed up with Moses Boyd for the first single "YONN MANMAN LATÉ".
"YONN MANMAN LATÉ" is Louis VI's first release since his September EP ECOCIDE, and sees him reunite with Moses Boyd.
Louis VI says of the song, "What world would be like right now if we never had colonialism and slavery? I bet we wouldn’t be facing climate change… We could’ve been something different. Not this destructive species. We’d be living in harmony with nature. The title comes from the Kweyol language from Dominica where my Dad’s side of the family are from. Yonn Manman Laté means = One Mother Nature. Me and Moses have our heritage from Dominica so it felt right to put it in our language."
EARTHLING will follow Louis VI's 2019 album SUGAR LIKE SALT, and will feature other collaborations with Mick Jenkins, Lex Amor, Oscar Jerome, Alex Cosmo Blake, Amahla and others. The album has been in the works for three years, and was finished deep in the Amazon rainforest.
He says of the record, "We need to step up and understand that this is our planet to take care of… we need to remember how to be earthlings again."
