Louis Tomlinson and Peter Doherty’s Strap Originals link up to release new music by Andrew Cushin
Louis Tomlinson and Peter Doherty’s label Strap Originals have joined forces with their respective record labels to release upcoming artist Andrew Cushin's debut album, Waiting For The Rain.
Doherty and Tomlinson bonded over their mutual admiration for Cushin, who is signed to the Strap Originals record label.
Cushin and Tomlinson first met last year after Cushin's appearance on the Sky Sports show Soccer AM, which led to Tomlinson offering him a support slot. "As somebody who has been interested in up and coming acts, working with Andrew was a no brainer. With his incredible voice partnered with his honesty in lyric I’m really excited to work alongside Peter and the Strap Originals team to help Andrew reach as many people as possible," says Tomlinson.
After being very impressed by Cushin’s music, Tomlinson offered to lend a supporting hand assisting with the release of the album. Both himself and Doherty have a desire to continue supporting the UK’s underground scene, by giving them a platform to reach a wider audience.
“Here at Strap Originals we always put the artist first and it's amazing that Louis Tomilinson and 78 productions are offering their support to the uber-talented Andrew Cushin," adds Doherty.
“It’s amazing to have someone as established as Louis fighting in my corner," Cushin says. "It’s been a pleasure getting to know him on and off the stage and I’m learning a great deal from him and his team. I’m looking forward to what I know will be an enjoyable and hugely beneficial collaboration together”.
Strap Originals is an independent label owned by Peter Doherty and his manager Jai Stanley, and run by Managing Director Charlie Dilks. It is independently financed and is committed to signing new original artists and allowing them to evolve and have creative control.
Waiting For The Rain will be released on 29 September and is available to pre order now.
