Los Bitchos rework King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's "Trapdoor" for new release
Los Bitchos have released PAH!, a new two-track EP that includes a reworking of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's "Trapdoor".
PAH! is Los Bitchos' first outing since their Los Chrismos EP landed in November last year, and sees the group cover The Champs' "Tequila", and rework King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's "Trapdoor".
Los Bitchos said of the King Gizzard song choice, "We love King Gizzard and "Trapdoor" was a song of theirs that stood out for a cover choice. It was that repetitive hook of "Trapdoor, trapdoor, trapdoor" that we found so compelling and trippy. It also translates great to a guitar hook! Our version starts off feeling like a hazy summer's day and escalates in a frantic tempo change that suggests all is not what it seems and trouble could be brewing… Hehe..."
They added of the "Tequila" cover, ""Tequila" has been the joyfully unhinged ending to our set for the past year. It always feels like it could fall apart at any moment and we wanted to capture that energy on the recording."
Los Bitchos' PAH! is out digitally now. They'll play London's Alexandra Palace on 22 March, and The Troxy on 23 March with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Visit losbitchos.com for more information.
