London K-pop event K.FLEX cancelled following Itaewon Halloween tragedy
K.FLEX, a K-pop event that was due to take place at London's O2 Arena this month, has been cancelled following the Halloween crowd crush tragedy in Itaewon, Seoul.
The event was due to feature performances from Winner, AB6IX, Pentagon, Weeekly, Billlie and Younite, and in a statement on socials earlier today (4 November), organisers announced that the concert has been cancelled in light of the Itaewon Halloween tragedy, where over 150 people died after a large crowd surged in a narrow alley of the South Korean nightlife district.
"Following the recent tragedy in Itaewon, and the period of national mourning across South Korea, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our November 20th concert at London’s The O2," the statement reads. "It just doesn't feel right celebrating at a time like this."
The statement adds, "We know you will be disappointed, as are we, but we truly feel it's the right decision. Our thoughts and prayers remain with those that lost their lives and their loved ones."
Refunds are available from the point of purchase, and those who bought tickets will get access to tickets for K.FLEX's September 2023 event before they go on general sale.
